Seventeen's eleventh mini-album, "Seventeenth Heaven," has achieved a new milestone in K-pop history by selling 5.09 million copies in its first week, according to Hanteo Chart.
Their agency, Pledis Entertainment, announced on the 30th that "Seventeen has become the first K-pop artist to surpass 5 million copies in first-week sales with a single album. They are the only K-pop artist to surpass 3 million copies on the day of release."
This album, released on October 23, had already sold 5,091,887 copies by the end of the first week. Achieving this level of sales within the first seven days is unprecedented for a single album in K-pop history.
First-week sales are considered a significant metric that measures the size and cohesion of an artist's fandom.
Pledis noted that Seventeen had recorded cumulative domestic album sales of 11,043,265 copies from January to September this year.
The title track, "God of Music ," even reached the top of the Melon "Top 100" chart, making SEVENTEEN the first boy group to do so this year.
