On October 9 KST Cube Entertainment announced the expiry of the exclusive contracts of several Pentagon members. Bursting the bubble of anticipation and fueling speculations, the agency articulated, "Our team has held several subsequent and transparently honest conversations with the entire Pentagon group, as we neared to the expiration date of their contracts."
"After serious contemplation and discussions, we have mutually decided to end our exclusive contracts with Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok," the agency's representative further informed.
With the sudden announcement of five out of the nine members departing from the agency, fans were naturally anxious over rumors of Pentagon's possible disbandment. However, the members were quick to negate this speculation.
Yeo One personally reached out to fans in a heartfelt handwritten letter. Expressing his thoughts, he said, “Change invariably brings new opportunities with it. And this, it seems, is the right moment to embrace a new challenge, to enhance our music for our dear fans, the Universe members, and all the admirers who support us relentlessly. As I bid adieu to Cube Entertainment, my dedication as a Pentagon member remains unwavering.”
Yeo One extended his love to 'Universe' – Pentagon's fandom, promising to continue sharing beautiful and happy moments with them, “As a Pentagon member, my only endeavor would be to relentlessly strive to grow and improve, working hard to ensure that we continue shining, irrespective of where we are."
Reinstating their stance, Yeo One categorically stated, “Pentagon has never left” and emphasized, “This is not withdrawal or disbandment.” Echoing his sentiment, Kino took to social media and posted a photograph of the entire Pentagon squad and added, “What is disbandment?” to make it unequivocally clear they were not disbanding.
