When it comes to conversations about popularity and pulling crowds by individual idols, Jimin's name is probably near the top of the ones that would pop up the most in many people's minds. 

The extent of his popularity is something that has marveled locals for years, so much so that even people who are not into K-pop acknowledge his impact, as seen from this tweet from years ago, an example of the many such comments from the general public.

This popularity and impact is often demonstrated in different events where Jimin either attends or is associated with in any way; his birthday projects being some of the top attractions for crowds comprising of fans and non-fans. 

Over the years, such birthday events have been known to attract overwhelming responses from the public for their luxurious and elegant nature, grand scale, glamour, and aesthetic. Moreover, it is not uncommon for the celebratory events to result in a major positive economic impact for the businesses around the venues, even being extended oftentimes for this reason on request of the venues' management, taking an example of last year's projects.

This year was no different. Jimin's ever-growing popularity shone yet again amidst the numerous festivities around the world by his fans for his big day, attesting to the strong love and support that he enjoys from across the world. In the case of South Korea, there were events in Seoul and Busan but both cities still had incredible response for their respective projects, showing how widespread his support is.

Here are examples of the different event venues for his 28th birthday celebrations that flocked with crowds of fans and non-fans. 

• On the day of his birthday, fans waited for him outside of HYBE building to pass on their birthday greetings as he left work for home. They were especially touched with his gesture of asking the driver to slow down so that he could wave at them!

• There was a large turnout at the 'Space Wadiz' where Jimin's Korean fanbase 'ALLFORJIMIN' had organized a 'Jimin Pop-Up' covering the entire venue, comprising of numerous activities including café events, photo booths, exhibitions and more [read here for details on the project]. Incredibly long queues could be seen as fans awaited their turn to view the exhibits and participate in other events.

• Another event that attracted a huge turnout was the 'Jimin Island' project organized by his Chinese fansite 'MOONRISING_CHINA' at the 'Seom Sevit', also consisting of Jimin exhibitions, among many other things [refer here for more details on the project].

• Fans in Peru showed up in large numbers to witness their specially organized 'water show' and exhibition for this important day.

• Indonesia had several gatherings showing fans who had come together to honor Jimin's day, others were seen enjoying his songs at a specially organized birthday event.

• Egyptian fans came together for a café event where they sang his songs to celebrate the impeccable artist that he is.

• Philippine fans also had a café events and cake decoration events, which saw them come together in large numbers for the celebrations.

• Perhaps the crowd that was most talked about was the one at 'Magnate' Café, which is owned by Jimin's dad. Despite the fact that there wasn't any official event being held there, fans still swarmed the venue from as early as before 10 AM, to leave their heartfelt birthday greetings and gifts for Jimin at the café.
• Jimin's dad, along with his staff members, took great care of the present fans with a warm heart, handing out drinks and snacks for those in the queue waiting to enter the café.
• In fact, the crowd was so large that there were reports of the area's local police and fire department being asked help in ensuring the safety of everyone! This shows how big of a deal this had become, portraying Jimin's insurmountable influence. 

Fans talked about just how big his solo concert would be if his birthday alone could pull such crowds. Others pointed out how big of an impact he has even without his group BTS, while others highlighted the fact that even though there were many events in Seoul and other areas, it did not impact the turnout at Busan.

Korean netizens on the online community platform 'the qoo' talked about Jimin's great power due to the events that attracted multitudes of people from all over the world, all showing up just to honor him.

Even though fans have always known of his great influence, it is always a thrill for them to witness it over and over again, seeing it grow each year. It makes them look forward to the 'Jimtober' festivities even more each year.
