On October 1, the YouTube channel 'Diva Gabee Girl' hosted a compelling episode titled 'no:ze, Leejung's US audition story | GABEE's Rising Star | EP11 | no:ze Leejung Gabee.'
In this video, Gabee continues her series 'GABEE's Rising Star,' where she interacts with guests, discussing various topics. This time, the guests included prominent dancers No:ze and Leejung, who also happened to be her co-stars in Mnet's reality show 'Street Woman Fighter Season 1.' This shared experience forged a tight bond among the three.
Leejung started the conversation by sharing her initial impression of No:ze. She admired No:ze's dancing talents as much as her beauty. Leejung admitted that, despite her own desire to radiate beauty, dancing remained her foremost passion, something she learned with time. Speaking of No:ze's unique charm, Leejung confessed to being captivated by her distinct fashion sense. Hats and beanies worn by No:ze were so popular among fans that they often sold out.
Leejung shared, "Apart from wanting to be pretty, No:ze unnie has the power to make me curious about what she wears. I was quite envious of that power. Things like the beanie and hat she wore were completely sold out. (Now) we've acknowledged each other's strengths and shared them."
Meanwhile, No:ze shared her struggles with self-doubt, drawn from the mismatch in the attention garnered by her dance videos in comparison to her photos. She also revealed deep conversations she had with Leejung about their discrepancies and how they learned to appreciate each other's strengths and distinct identities.
No:ze shared, "I started doubting myself. I felt very inadequate, thinking, 'Was I really not this talented?' I had many discussions with Leejung about this. I wanted Leejung's attitude, but she had many concerns about things opposite to herself. There was a significant difference in the number of views between my dance videos and photos. I was quite upset until I talked to Leejung, but through our conversations, I realized that 'we can't be the same.'"
No:ze also described her challenging journey of losing her identity amidst fame after 'Street Woman Fighter 1,' leading her to a burnout phase.
She explained, "When I was so busy, there was a time we were so busy too. Right after the end of the show, we were really busy. After that time, right after we finished, I felt burnt out. I had to be so thankful but it felt like I was losing myself." She elaborated, "Because we used to live in the way we wanted. We planned for ourselves on our own and suddenly we had to live a life which is planned by another person. So made me feel I lost my independence."
She then explained how she rose above it through introspection and returning to activities she truly enjoyed. She believes it helps in getting in touch with one's self again. For No:ze, reading books is one such activity that provides solace amidst chaos.
No:ze also displayed sincerity by discussing a controversy associated with her in July of the previous year. She was accused of mistreating several small businesses by failing to meet contractual obligations concerning product advertising on her social media platform.
Although her agency, Starting House, initially defended her by claiming no violation of contracts, they later admitted miscommunication issues with No:ze led to late ad postings and contract violation. They concluded by mentioning that No:ze deeply regrets her negligence and is reflecting upon the same for future conduct improvement.
No:ze really fumbled that bag.
