Earlier this week, actor Lee Sun Gyun (48) and musician G-Dragon (35) were booked by Incheon Metropolitan Police on suspicions of illegal drug use.
Specifically, both stars are facing allegations of violating the Narcotics Control Act. However, while both stars are suspected of violating the same law, it has been revealed that their specific criminal offenses are different.
According to a rep for the Drug Crime Investigation Unit of the Incheon Metropolitan Police on October 28 KST, Lee Sun Gyun is under suspicion of using two types of illegal drugs. The first, broadly classified as "marijuana", includes psychoactive drugs made of substances such as hemp and cannabis resin. The second, broadly classified as "psychotropic drugs", are typically prescribed by doctors and include varieties such as Philopon (methamphetamine), Propofol, Ketamine, and Zolpidem.
G-Dragon, on the other hand, is under suspicion of using a third type of illegal drug, broadly classified as "opioid substance", include recreational drugs made up of opium poppy leaves (heroin) and coca leaves (cocaine).
In order to detect the exact types of illegal drugs that these two may have abused, both individuals will undergo chemical tests soon, which will determine the types of drugs as well as the frequency of use.
