Actress Kim Ok Bin recently disclosed that she had sustained a fracture while filming the celebrated drama 'Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun'. The actress suffered her injury on the set, attributing it to the rigorous physical demands of her role.
During an interview conducted in Seoul on October 25 KST, Kim Ok Bin discussed her experience filming the tvN drama.
Reflecting on her journey with 'Arthdal Chronicles', which spanned over four years with a significant gap between the two seasons, Kim Ok Bin expressed, "Because of COVID-19, the production of Season 2 was precarious, and there were moments of uncertainty. However, my affection for Arthdal was unwavering. Hence, despite the hiatus, I was patient, believing that the series would eventually end on a meaningful note.”
Kim Ok Bin also expressed deep admiration and empathy for her character, “This was my first time portraying a villain. Everything about Taealha, from her family background to her relationships, was intriguing. I developed a sort of attachment for her, a character with a heartrending yet thrilling love.”
'Sword of Aramun', a fantasy drama bearing heavy CGI elements, didn't present Kim Ok Bin with ample opportunities for battle scenes because her role was focused more on palace politics. The actress joked, "Considering that all the women of the Sea tribe were brought up to be warriors, I would've enjoyed some more action scenes." However, she confessed to receiving her injury during a less action-intensive scene in 'Arthdal Chronicles'.
She related, "In order to rescue Tagon, I was riding a horse when I struck the sword and fractured my bone. We took a brief pause before resuming the filming." Remarkably, her commitment to the character led her to joke, "I informed the writer about my injury and mentioned, 'Don't remove my silver (armor)'. This amused the writer as I perhaps took my character's invincibility a bit too seriously!" Kim Ok Bin's dedication not only to her craft but also to staying true to her character, exemplifies her professionalism and passion for acting.

I'm really enjoying this season, I don't know if it's the change of actor and I'm more attuned to Lee Joon Gi, but it seems much more dramatic, more exciting and interesting, and has a lot more life to it.
