iNKODE, an agency founded by renowned singer and actor Kim Jaejoong, has recently announced its intention to pursue legal action against the impersonation accounts as well as individuals who spread false information and harmful posts about them or their artists.
In a statement titled 'Guide to Legal Action to Protect the Agency and its Artists' that was released on October 4 KST via their official social media account, iNKODE expressed their concern over escalating issues. They highlighted increasing cases of people opening impersonating social media accounts that pretend to represent their company and artists, manipulate direct messages, and distribute false information and detrimental posts.
The company emphasized their commitment to preserving their rights and their artists’ rights and iterated that they are prepared to take all necessary legal measures against the people who spread such harmful information. They also acknowledged that these actions have not only damaged their reputation but have also caused emotional distress among their fans and supporters.
Their statement read, "We take these actions very seriously, and through consistent and diligent monitoring we will ensure to take strict legal action against perpetrators. Moreover, we will maintain zero tolerance and will not be lenient in terms of any form of punishment for such acts."
