Since their debut in 2015, Seventeen has moved beyond their rookie days. Yet, despite their seniority in the industry, they can occasionally appear flustered when topics like dating come up. In a recent teaser for the hit variety show 'Running Man', set to air on October 22, Hoshi was caught off-guard by the question,
"Have you ever had a girlfriend like that?"
To which Hoshi, seemingly taken aback, responded nervously, "Never—I don’t know."
The preview provided laughter among fans.
Many fans speculate that Hoshi's cautious response stems from his desire to uphold his idol image. Earlier, in an interview with SBS News, fellow member Woozi was posed a similar question about dating. His equally measured response prompted fans to jestingly suggest that Woozi had undergone media training to adeptly sidestep such probing inquiries.
It's a common trope for idols appearing on variety shows to field questions about their romantic lives, as such topics often serve as engaging hooks for the audience. Given Seventeen's tenure of 8 years in the industry, it might be appropriate for them to gradually share insights into their personal lives. It's likely that fans would view such revelations as non-controversial.
Nope, they should say absolutely nothing, and sidestep every loaded question about it that comes their way. After seeing what happened to Joshua, does anyone really think they should do anything else?
.
Any one of them mentions a girlfriend, past or present, it will invite a feeding frenzy like someone had tossed a load of chum into shark infested waters. Those reporter/MCs should have done some research on what happened to Seventeen recently, and not asked the question at all.
