Former member of the pioneering YG Entertainment hip-hop group 1TYM, Song Baekkyung, recently was involved in a severe bicycle accident. Reportedly, the artist suffered significant injuries after an unforeseen fall during a late-night ride, prompting a wave of sympathy from his fans.

On October 5, Baekkyung shared a post on his Instagram account recounting the incident. He paired his message with a photo showing his face, which bore visible signs of the accident — bruising and significant swelling around his eyes.

Baekkyung exposed the gravity of his injuries, stating, "I have a fracture in the upper jawbone, three broken ribs, and my right wrist is also broken." He added that the broken ribs made it impossible for him to breathe properly, causing considerable discomfort and preventing him from sleeping.

He added, "Last night, I couldn't even breathe properly because of the broken ribs, so I couldn't sleep at all." He also mentioned, "The photo is from yesterday, but when I woke up today, only the side of my face with the broken bones was swollen."

He then said, "I have a business trip to Japan planned for next week, but I decided to go and get facial plastic surgery when I come back."

Upon hearing this, fans expressed their concern, saying, "I feel so sorry for you," "I'm really worried," "I hope you have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery," and "Stay strong."

He reassured his fans, by jokingly saying, "This is an opportunity for me to completely change my eyes, nose, and forehead. I'm okay. I'm alive."

Song Baekkyung, a member of the first-generation hip-hop group 1TYM, made his debut in the music industry in 1998. The group gained immense popularity with songs like "1TYM," "One Love," "HOT," and more.

After halting group activities in 2006, he appeared on various variety shows, showcased his wit, and even ventured into acting.

In 2019, he passed the KBS voice actor audition and is currently working as a freelance voice actor after being part of the KBS voice actor association.
