Ahreum, previously of the girl group, T-ara, delivered an enchanting performance on the first episode of JTBC's 'Sing Again Season 3', which aired on October 26.
This episode saw the 'Sugar Man' group contestants showcasing their talent and performances. A familiar face caught everyone's eye as contestant number 21 graced the stage.
She introduced herself and explained, "I used to be a new member in a group that symbolizes a crown." She shared her reasons for appearing on the show and said, "Those who wear a crown are said to bear the weight. I thought it was a bit burdensome at that age, but now I have finally taken off the crown and am appearing to shine as myself."
She added, "It has been 9 months since I gave birth. I prepared for 1-2 months. It was tough, but thanks to my children, I was more diligent. Overcoming difficulties, I think I gave myself a chance in life to achieve better results."
Contestant no. 21 was part of the 'Sugar Man' group that was given a chance to perform their own songs. She performed to T-ara's "Sexy Love."
She captivated the judges with his overflowing confidence and dazzling performance. The judges enjoyed her energetic performance and praised her for maintaining her ability to perform with high energy.
Sunmi commented appreciatively, "You still have the potential of a current idol. I found it impressive as I could still perceive the earnestness, lingering emotions, and the adrenaline. It was a very experienced stage."
Ahreum's persistence and courage especially moved Baek Ji Young. She commented, "Despite recovering from childbirth, your lively dance, confident demeanor, and the atmosphere that made it seem like you owned the stage stood out. Many mothers abandon their dreams, but I commend you for not surrendering yours."
Once her performance concluded, Ahreum expressed her gratitude emotionally, "Being part of 'Sing Again' has helped me rediscover my strengths and what I excel at. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone."
Meanwhile, Areum joined T-ara as a new member in July 2012 and was active with "Day by Day." However, she departed from the group in July 2013.
In 2019, she married a businessman and has since become the mother to two sons, one born in 2020 and the other in 2022.
Ahreum's career was royally shit upon thanks to Hwayoung and the hell she put the T-ara members through. I'm so glad Ahreum has so many good things in her life now.
