Bearing the status of a celebrity comes with its own set of challenges, and these difficulties extend far beyond the demands of a hectic schedule and relentless promotional activities. Those in the public eye frequently find themselves under intense scrutiny, not only from the general public but, at times, even from their own fans.
In a recent incident, Jungkook's fans rallied to his defense, countering the criticism that had emerged regarding the content he had liked on TikTok.
Jungkook is renowned for maintaining a lively presence on this social media platform, frequently showing appreciation for videos created by his fans. However, a netizen accused Jungkook of liking inappropriate content and following TikTokers of questionable reputations.
One netizen raised the issue on a popular online community, Nate Pann, in a post titled, "The TikTokers Jungkook pressed 'Like' on TikTok."
In the post, the netizen wrote, "Check out the TikTokers that BTS's Jungkook has been liking and following. Jungkook, did you give up on being an idol? What's going on... Why did he delete his perfectly fine Instagram and act like this on TikTok? Not long ago, he was making headlines with Sasaeng memes. Please, manage your personal life better."
The poster also included a TikTok post from another fan stating, "I don't really care that you're an idol and you're dating, getting tattoos, and smoking because you're an adult. However, publicly approaching girls is a bit much. Have you ever seen a male celebrity who openly approaches women on live broadcasts like you do? No, it's not because you're an idol, it's because you're a celebrity, and that's expected. Why? Because in the entertainment industry, your image is crucial. I'm not saying you can't do anything, but please think about how your actions might affect your image (funny videos and following accounts are okay, but commenting and following Misun is not okay). If you want to see Misun, at least hide your follows and likes."
These few netizens were taking issue with Jungkook for his TikTok activity, where he was following and liking content created by female TikTokers with content they found questionable.
However, numerous fans swiftly rallied to Jungkook's defense, pointing out that he often hits the "Like" button on a wide range of videos, which includes dance challenges and fan-made content.
Netizens and fans commented, "He presses dozens of videos of singing challenges and fan art that they drew for him. Geez," "The thing is Jungkook only presses on dance challenge videos of his songs," "But the Tiktokers mentioned in the post aren't weird TikTokers," "He's an adult, he should be able to press 'Like' on videos. Also, the videos aren't that bad," "Chuther and Misun aren't those types of TikTokers, they're just raising an issue with a non-issue," "I think he pressed like on Chuther's video because she used his song," "Leave him alone, is he your boyfriend or something?" "Just from this post, it sounds like Jungkook presses 'Like' only on female TikTok videos. He presses 'Like' on so many different videos, and interacts with different accounts," "This is hilarious," and "These fans are being ridiculous."
He'll be deleting his TikTok accounts as well soon if they're not careful. They need to know when to shut up.
.
He can like whatever posts he wants and follow who the hell he likes, and you know what? They should make the most of him being around, because, if what Bighit says is true, in a couple of months he's going to be disappearing for around 18 months into the military.
.
Make sure he wants to come back, rather than his memories being full of this crap.
