A media outlet reported that EXO members Sehun (29) and Chanyeol (30) are set to pursue individual activities under a new agency, apart from SM Entertainment.
The new agency that Sehun and Chanyeol will call home is being established by entertainment producer Jung Hoon-tak, former CEO of iHQ Entertainment, and an advisor to the Korea Entertainment Managers Association.
According to entertainment industry insiders, Sehun and Chanyeol, both members of the popular K-pop group EXO, have decided to enter into exclusive contracts with a new company, separate from their group activities, in order to explore a wider range of personal endeavors.
As for SM Entertainment's official statement on this matter, a representative stated, "The rumors of Chanyeol and Sehun switching management agencies are false. The contract signed at the end of last year with SM and EXO members remains valid, and EXO's group activities continue under the supervision of SM."
The statement continued, "However, SM has conditionally allowed members to engage in personal activities under their own corporations if they wish to do so, within the framework of their individual contracts."
Notably, recent months have seen EXO facing internal conflicts, with members Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin embroiled in contractual disputes with SM Entertainment, although these disputes have been resolved through mutual agreement.
Sehun and Chanyeol were previously known for their collaboration as the second unit group of EXO, 'EXO-SC.

Therefore, there is nothing wrong with Sehun and Chanyeol pursuing individual/solo activities outside of SM and EXO and no one needed to deny it.
