BTS's V is making history in the British market as a K-pop solo artist.
During its debut week, V's solo album 'LayOver' nabbed the number one position in three categories – the Single Downloads Chart, Single Sales Chart, and Album Downloads Chart, making him the first K-pop solo artist to achieve such a milestone.
As the album entered its fifth week, 'LayOver' secured the 9th spot on the UK Official Album Downloads Chart, while the album's lead single "Slow Dancing" climbed up the UK Official Single Downloads Chart and Single Sales Chart. This achievement set a new record, making V the longest-charting K-pop soloist on the UK Official Chart. Other tracks featured on 'LayOver,' including "Love Me Again," "Rainy Days," "For Us," and "Blue," also consistently charted for five consecutive weeks in both single chart categories.
Meanwhile, "LayOver" is also performing well on the UK iTunes Album Chart, topping the chart and surpassing releases from renowned pop acts like Drake, Ed Sheeran, and ABBA.
Congratulations, Taehyung!
