BLACKPINK's Jennie achieved a remarkable feat as her solo track, "You & Me," soared to #1 on Melon's HOT 100 chart, without the aid of any promotional efforts.
"You & Me" garnered much attention as soon as it was released on October 6.
Originally a solo number performed by Jennie as a part of BLACKPINK's 'Born Pink' world tour, "You & Me" was officially released on digital streaming platforms as a gift to fans for the love they showed throughout the group's tour.
Displaying her popularity, Jennie quickly conquered the Melon charts, one of South Korea's biggest music platforms.

Korean netizens were impressed with Jennie's star power and the performance of the track that was supposed to be a gift for fans.
K-netizens commented, "I feel happy for her because people slander her so much online," "She's a real queen to get to #1 on Melon Charts without any music program appearances or TikTok challenges," "She is still popular and attention-grabbing five years ago and even now too," "I don't think Jennie even expected to reach number 1 either. If she was aiming for charting, then she wouldn't do promotion for only two days," "The song is really good," "The song is good to begin with so it's well-deserved," and "That is amazing."
So tours don’t count as promotions lolol. They are acting like no one knew about the song at all and it was a huge surprise.
