On the afternoon of September 27, ATTRAKT, the agency representing FIFTY FIFTY, filed a lawsuit for 1 billion won in damages against The Givers, Ahn Seong Il and Baek Jin Sil. The complaint was lodged at the Seoul Central District Court.
The lawsuit alleges that Ahn Seong Il and Baek Jin Sil from The Givers not only violated the stipulations of their business service contract with ATTRAKT but also committed acts of deception and breach of trust. They are also accused of interfering in the agency's works and causing property damage by acting against the plaintiff's interests.
Ahn Seong Il, the CEO of The Givers, had previously signed a five-year Project Management (PM) business service contract (effective from June 1, 2021, to May 31, 2026) with ATTRAKT. His role was to helm the development and debut project of a new girl group that ATTRAKT aimed to produce. Similarly, Baek Jin Sil, an executive director of The Givers, also held management responsibilities over the project and performed various tasks under the PM service contract.
In a statement from an ATTRAKT representative, it was noted, “Our agency has suffered substantial losses due to the breach of trust and embezzlement by The Givers, Ahn Seong Il and Baek Jin Sil. Owing to their illegal activities and default, we've lost significant business opportunities, including ad deals and sponsorships. This has resulted in a direct dispute between our company and the artist which has impeded regular entertainment activities.”
They further went on to say, “The amount currently claimed for damages is only a portion of the total loss. We plan to expand the amount claimed during subsequent court proceedings.”
Despite the ongoing legal battle, ATTRAKT is said to be preparing for a new girl group project set to make its debut in the first half of the following year.

USD 1 million is actually not a lot, considering the royalties from that Cupid song, and the amount spent to train and nurture 50/50.
I hope this court case dredges up the dirt about The Givers forging signatures on the copyrights, as well as illegal poaching of the group.
