We are currently in the middle of the 4th generation of K-pop idol groups. During this generation, the K-pop music industry has experienced exponential growth, not only within South Korea but also on the international stage, signifying a profound shift in the landscape of K-pop idols.
The accomplishments of these 4th-generation idol groups are truly remarkable. They have effortlessly scaled major music charts, including the prestigious US Billboards, and achieved million-selling status within a remarkably brief span of time. When it comes to their live performances, it is evident that the 4th generation groups have achieved unparalleled milestones, rendering them indispensable figures within the K-pop landscape.
With 4th generation male groups gaining immense popularity outside of Korea, which groups are the most popular within the country? Korean netizens recently joined the online community discussion portal Instiz where they shared their thoughts on the most popular 4th generation boy groups.
So here are some of the picks made by Korean netizens:
TXT
Stray Kids
The Boyz
They commented, "It has to be TXT," "Stray Kids," "If it's domestic, TXT," "I think Stray Kids more than The Boyz," "TRENDZ," "I don't know, they're all the same," "I don't think it's about group popularity anymore. It's more about their individual fandoms," "It's obviously TXT," "definitely TXT in Korea," and "How do people not know this...it's so TXT."
Imo it is TXT. They have good album sales and good digitals.
Stray Kids and Ateez both are more popular internationally than in Korea. Their music style also seems to be more appealing to western fans. As far as I remember SKZ albums charted numer 1 in my country in physical sales 2 or 3 times. That is how popular they are and we aren't even top European kpop market.
And The Boyz are really underrated internationally, definitely more popular in Korea.
