It has already been nine years since the passing of Ladies' Code members EunB and RiSe.
On September 3, 2014, at around 1:20 AM KST, the group's van ran into a protective wall in the vicinity of the Singal Intersection on the Yeongdong Expressway in the direction of Incheon. As a result of the accident, EunB passed away while the remaining six passengers were injured and rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital. Sojung and RiSe spent days in critical condition, with RiSe passing away four days later. EunB was 21, and RiSe was 23.
The sudden tragedy left their fellow members and fans in deep sorrow and shock as they mourned their passing. Many other idols in the industry also took to social media to react to the tragedy and express their grief. To this day, the members also mention the accident and their beloved lost friends.
Following their passing, the Ladies' Code song "I'm Fine (Thank You)" became a memorial song for the members and quickly charted in South Korea. The 'I'm Fine Thank You: RiSe & EunB Memorial Concert' was also held in Tokyo, with the group carrying out RiSe's dream of performing in her home country of Japan.
Meanwhile, Ladies' Code debuted in 2013 and received love with hit singles like "Bad Girl" and "Pretty Pretty." Following the passing of EunB and RiSe, the group took a hiatus before returning as a trio (Zuny, Ashley, and Sojung) with the single "Galaxy" in 2016. Ladies' Code's exclusive contracts with their agency Polaris expired in 2020, and the members are currently pursuing various solo activities.
May EunB and RiSe continue to rest in peace.
