The canceled 'SNL Korea 4' episode script, which features Kim Hieora, has come to light.
On September 6, an exclusive report by Star News revealed that actress Kim Hieora, entangled in allegations of participation in school violence, was set to appear on 'SNL Korea 4.'
According to the 'SNL Korea 4' script obtained by Star News, Kim Hieora was set to transform again into a role similar to Lee Sa Ra, one of the school violence perpetrators in Netflix's 'The Glory.' The only difference was the change in the setting from school to the workplace, but she continued to play a character who tormented those around her.
In the 'MZ Office' segment scripted for Kim Hieora, she was due to portray a hostile workplace manager named Kim, known for verbally abusing her junior colleagues, played by actors Joo Hyun Young and Kim Won Hoon.
Some of the lines given to Kim Hieora in the script were, "(with a laughing tone) Are you scared??? It's just a joke~," "Are you scared, so you think it's just a joke~? Can't you read the room???" "F***, this is crazy hilarious~ I'm in tears," "If you're not okay, what are you going to do?" and more.
Given the uncontrolled and volatile nature of her character, mistreating her subordinates based on her whims, the production team decided to cancel the episode following the allegations of Kim's real-life involvement in school violence. The main broadcast was initially scheduled for live airing on September 9, with some pre-recorded segments planned to be filmed on September 7.
Coupang Play announced the program's cancellation in an ambiguous Instagram post, stating, "The 9th episode of 'SNL Korea 4,' scheduled to air on September 9, has been canceled. We will return with even more laughter next week." They, however, refrained from citing a specific reason for the cancellation.
Earlier, Dispatch reported exclusively about Kim Hieora's past involvement with a group notorious for bullying, extortion, and the use of physical and verbal violence during her middle school years.
Her unconventional school life was known to classmates, but the information remained undisclosed until recently. The airing of 'The Glory' last year brought her past under scrutiny, with her convincing portrayal of school bully Lee Sa Ra triggering one of the victims of her past behavior to disclose the information to Dispatch.
Addressing the allegations, Kim Hieora admitted to the media about her association with the group in her school years but denied it being a "juvenile delinquent group." While recognizing her past, she negated claims of physically tormenting anyone, insisting that she was merely a bystander in such incidents.
Woah. I can see why they cancelled it, that’s some crazy irony.
It’s a bit of a controversial issue, since although she was clearly in the wrong being a bystander to bullying as she admitted to, she was also a child at the time.
