Whether during live broadcasts or on social media, K-Pop idols are often asked to share TMIs. In English, "TMI" means "Too Much Information," so people often share deeply personal or even embarrassing episodes. However, in Korea, "TMI" has a different meaning. To them, it's just sharing irrelevant or random information that happened.
Due to this, international fans are often confused as to why idols usually share mundane stories. However, there are idols who understand the assignment and take them to the next level.
Shownu once shared with fans that he got an upset stomach from what he ate the day before, and while he was doing his morning workout he kept going to and from the toilet fighting for his life. He suspected it may be because he ate too much basil pesto.
On the second episode of Kim Ji Woong’s new web variety show Boy Detective Kim Ji Woong, BamBam who guested on the show asked Ji Woong if he had wet the bed before, and he confessed that he had done it a lot in school.
TWICE tends to give some of the weirdest TMIs, fans don't know what to do with the information. This one didn't come from them directly, but the funniest one had to be the time when JYP Entertainment posted a statement to the whole world basically saying that Sana had to leave ISAC early because she had diarrhea.
Felix posted on their messaging app, Bubble telling fans that he was constipated. He even wrote it in both Korean and English to make sure that all Stays knew of his pain.
Idols are people, too. Yes, it's amusing to know that they are just like us common people.
