Five K-pop groups get nominated for the Group of the Year at the VMAs

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards(VMAs) announced its second batch of nominations on September 1st. 

K-pop's presence on the global music scene continues its rise, and this year's VMAs reflects the trend. On September 1st, VMAs announced this year's nominees for Song of Summer, Show of the Summer, Group of the Year, and Album of the Year. For Group of the Year, 5 out of 8 nominees were K-pop idols.

The nominated K-pop groups include BLACKPINK, FIFTY FIFTY, NewJeans, Seventeen, and TXT. Previously, BTS won the Group of the Year award for four consecutive years. 

Voting for the Group of the Year award has opened on September 4th. Who are you voting for? 

Meanwhile, this year's VMSs will air live on September 12 at 8 PM EST.
