KWON EUNBI is a singer under Woollim Entertainment, who made her solo debut in August 2021 with the EP 'Open.' Within her two-year journey as a solo artist, EUNBI already has three mini-albums and one single album in her discography, aside from the soundtracks she participated in as well as the collaboration singles.

Ten months after the release of her third mini-album, 'Lethality,' in October 2022, EUNBI has now made her awaited return with the summer single album titled 'The Flash.' The record contains three new songs, including the up-tempo dance title track "The Flash," "Comet," and "Beautiful Night."

To commemorate EUNBI's comeback, the singer chatted with allkpop to talk about 'The Flash,' how she spends her free time, her love for RUBIs (her fandom name), and more. Read on below to learn more about KWON EUNBI!

allkpop: Hi, KWON EUNBI! First of all, congratulations on your comeback with 'The Flash'! This marks your first release for this year. How does it feel to greet everyone with 'The Flash'?

KWON EUNBI: Hello, this is KWON EUNBI. It’s been a really long time. I finally came back with my first single album 'The Flash,' after 10 months! I’m so excited and nervous. I missed you so much!

allkpop: Share with us some stories from the preparations in general, including the music video shoot and working in the studio!

KWON EUNBI: Apink's Namjoo sent a coffee truck to my music video set as a surprise. I was so thankful and touched! But I heard that she had called my manager 10 times to do this surprise, so it was really cute.

allkpop: You said that you feel the pressure of being a singer. Pressure is normal, but how do you handle it? As a solo artist, it must be hard since you carry everything alone on your shoulders. How do you kind of approach these things?

KWON EUNBI: I do mind control, thinking that I can do it. And because there are fans who always support me, I’m gaining courage and overcoming it well.

allkpop: You said that you want people to find comfort in your music; a lot of fans get strength from you and your music. But I wanted to ask you, what pushes you to just go on and where do you find your own comfort? 

KWON EUNBI: RUBIs give me the most strength. I think KWON EUNBI, who dances and sings on the stage, exists because of RUBIs.

allkpop: During comebacks, your schedule gets so hectic to the point where you can't enjoy or do your hobbies. Not to mention doing musical dramas, being a DJ at a radio show, and attending music festivals. When you have a lot of free time, how do you spend it? Do you plan to just use all the time to rest, or is there anything you would do aside from it?

KWON EUNBI: When I have my free time, I sleep, eat delicious food, meet friends, watch drama movies, and have a drive! On my day off, I tend to move spontaneously rather than plan.

allkpop: You've been going viral recently, and you've even been named the 'summer queen'! During a show, you also confessed that you've been getting love calls after performing at the 'Water Bomb' Festival. What's your reaction to the enormous attention you're getting these days?

KWON EUNBI: I didn’t know that from 'Water Bomb' I would receive this much attention and love. Thank you for your support and love! Because of that, I am having a happy day. I am planning to show you various charms and stages, so please look forward to it and show a lot of love!

allkpop: This August marks your 2nd anniversary! Congratulations~ In what way do you plan to celebrate this milestone? Could you share with us your experience in the K-Pop industry thus far?

KWON EUNBI: Time really flies. First, I want to spend my 2nd anniversary with RUBIs! I want to celebrate and enjoy it together. If I keep running, I think I can do everything.

allkpop: 'The Flash' is your only music release in 2023. Do you have any plans on releasing more music, perhaps an EP or a full-length album?

KWON EUNBI: I am not sure about it yet.

allkpop: You've already done a lot of activities this year, but are there any items on your bucket list that you would like to achieve?

KWON EUNBI: I did so many things this year! One of the items on my bucket list is to release a Christmas song at the end of this year.
