BLACKPINK unveils grand finale in Seoul for the 'Born Pink' world tour and fans say it might be the last one for a while

AKP STAFF

In a bittersweet moment for BLACKPINK fans around the globe, the iconic K-pop girl group has announced the grand finale of their highly acclaimed 'Born Pink' world tour.

As the quartet prepares to take the stage one last time, anticipation is tinged with a sense of farewell, as fans speculate that this concert could be the last one for a while.

BLACKPINK's final concerts for the successful 'Born Pink' world tour will take place in Seoul, South Korea, on September 16 and 17.

Since their debut, BLACKPINK has consistently broken records and set new standards for K-pop industry success.

As the finale of their latest world tour approaches and with contract renewal status still pending, fans are growing increasingly saddened, fearing it might be the last BLACKPINK concert for the foreseeable future.

They commented, "I definitely will go to their concert this time," "I really want to go this time," "I wonder if they're going to announce if they're renewing or not," "If they don't renew, this might be their last concert. So I definitely should go," "Is this the last tour before their contract renewal?" and "I think they're still working on renewal since there weren't any articles on it. This means I think YG is expecting this to be their last concert. So the ticket prices are higher."

My bet is that this is going to be their last show from a tour ever. They’ll probably keep the group going on to make money from the brand name, releasing few songs on special dates, like 10th anniversary, but will never go on tour again. Kind of what happened to Girls’ Generation

Fans are starting to realize something uncomfortable and inconvenient to what they believe. It's becoming more and more obvious to them what's going on, which explains the shift in skepticism from fans, and the overdrive of believing every rumor and company word and going to an extreme to “prove” it.

❃❃❃

What's likely going to happen is they are going to be guilted into renewing. After that, they may get another release or two, but after Babymonster debuts, Blackpink will become, essentially, clout and marketing tools. They've been testing it for a while now. Since the “personal” IG accounts. They became more models and influencers, and the quality of the music dropped. People have noticed, cause around KTL people have been talking about it. They will likely become even more IG model than idol than they already are. I mean, YG puts more light on their brand deals than their music, and that's probably going to get held over their head. We saw this with 2ne1 as well. The difference is that 2ne1 was big in the time before social media was as big as it is now. Now, they can use that to amp that up. But they are not able to say what they want. It has to go through the filter of the company.

❃❃❃

For those paying attention, Blackpink has been swamped with both media and contractual things. No one noticed how conveniently timed the encore tour dates were? Their mobile game? The sudden ramping of media coverage for a ton of things, most of which are just being put out and ignored? Unless they can control the situation. Sound familiar? Two people, same company? Timing is everything, and people are starting to see this because a lot of the stuff going is being open-ended and pushed incredibly hard by every single outlet. This should tell you there's some kind of incentive. If you've been paying attention, you have probably also noticed how unhappy they have gotten and how worn down they look. Something isn't right. And this is all just things you can observe by watching the public stuff. It's the stuff I had been trying to draw attention to, hoping that things could be changed, and it wouldn't be so bad. Because fans can bully the company into proper treatment. But they have to see it and start calling it out. Probably too late now, though. Fans have already been gaslighted into thinking unhealthy things for them is okay and to be praised because it works for fans. Those fans, not understanding just how different those lifestyles are.

❃❃❃

Blackpink deserves better, unfortunately, I don't think they're going to get it. It frustrates me. I mean actual better, not the fan glorification of better. Because the modern obsession with “just like me” is part of the problem. Two different lifestyles, two different standards and care.
