Actress Go So Young is receiving backlash after her careless social media posting.
On August 15, Go So Young shared photos on her Instagram, capturing her family vacation in Japan. The images featured her husband, Jang Dong Gun, and their two children, aged 14 and 10.
In the photos, Go So Young can be seen traveling around Japan wearing a luxury brand backpack. She took pictures at souvenir shops, convenience stores, anime shops, Japanese restaurants, and more.
However, Korean netizens criticized Go So Young for posting her trip to Japan on the National Liberation Day of Korea. The National Liberation Day of Korea marks the day when Korea was liberated from 35 years of Japanese colonial rule.
Many pointed out that the actress was senseless and careless in posting the photos of her trip to Japan, on the day that celebrates Korea's freedom from Japanese colonialism.
Go So Young quickly deleted the photos following the criticism, but her photos had already been shared on various online communities.
K-netizens commented, "It's really amazing she had to post these photos on this day when she should be old enough to know the significance," "She seems like she really didn't know?" "Is it hard to not post for one day?" "Why did she have to post today?" "She's a public figure, she should have been more careful," "Does she not know the National Liberation Day of Korea?" "She should have been more thoughtful since she's a celebrity," "This is legendary," "Even ordinary citizens know not to post photos of Japan on this day," "She really didn't do any thinking. If she did, it would have been really easy to figure out that today is the National Liberation Day of Korea," "Oh man," "I unfollowed her too," and "It's not like she's young. She's old enough to know what day today is. Even if you go to Naver it says it's the National Liberation Day of Korea," and "This is a big issue that she doesn't know what day today is."
Considering how nationalistic and honorific korea is ... for her to post then delete it means she knew she should not have done it .... any other day would have been fine
NOT August 15th
