On July 19, a bombshell phone call recording surfaced, shedding light on a conversation between ATTRAKT CEO Jun Hong Joon and The Givers CEO Ahn Sung Il concerning the abrupt cancellation FIFTY FIFTY's "Barbie" music video filming.
The recording, made public by YouTuber and former reporter Lee Jin Ho, allegedly contains recordings of the two CEOs' discussion, which took place on June 20, immediately after the "Barbie" music video was called off.
In the recording, CEO Jun Hong Joon can be heard saying, "CEO Ahn, why shouldn't I go ahead with it? Shooting the 'Barbie' music video would bring recognition to the group and to you. But then, a lawsuit came in."
Responding with a heavy sigh, representative Ahn Sung Il explained, "First, I'll speak to the American side, and I'm going to talk to the four members later, but I'll pass along the message to them. And I'm going to take my hands off."
CEO Ahn firmly asserted that he would be parting from the project and said, "I'll wrap this up first. I'll simply receive the song and hand it over to you. It would be for the best for me to steer clear of further involvement."
Prior to this revelation, The Givers, in association with CEO Ahn, released an official statement on July 17, claiming that CEO Jun had suddenly halted the filming of the "Barbie" music video on the 20th of the previous month. CEO Ahn had expressed strong concerns about potential damages, legal action from the American side in the future, erosion of trust and reputation, and adverse effects on the group's global career if the filming was terminated.
Reacting to the released recording, Lee Jin Ho shared his insights on his YouTube channel, stating, "Had the music video been filmed, it would have been only CEO Jun who suffered." He further revealed, "On June 19, the members of FIFTY FIFTY submitted an application for a provisional injunction to suspend the exclusive contract. At that time, the members highlighted issues with ATTRAKT's 'lack of transparency' and their attempts to enforce schedules despite the members' reported health challenges. Forcing the video shoot would provide justification for the termination of the exclusive contract."
According to the latest phone call recording and the Kakao talk conversation, CEO Jun had clearly been in concern for the members' health and stated that the group will resume activities in July after they recovered.
Lee Jin Ho then added, "And who was the 'individual pressuring the group to perform despite their health issues,' as claimed by the members? It was actually CEO Ahn."
Lmao, Ahn and The Givers destroyed the group and a big opportunity for them to grow more. They sued Attrackt, but somehow wanted them to still pay for the music video? LOL. This group deserves nothing but disbanding and disappearing forever.
