The issue of Song Ji Hyo's unpaid settlement has escalated to critical levels due to the outstanding wages of Uzurocks employees.
It has been revealed that the amount owed to Song Ji Hyo by Uzurocks is a staggering 900 million KRW (704,921 USD). Moreover, the salaries of her manager and other employees remain unpaid, and it was discovered that Song Ji Hyo had to personally cover her manager's on-site payment with her own credit card.
In response to these issues, Song Ji Hyo filed a complaint against Uzurocks' representative, CEO A, accusing him of violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Certain Economic Crimes (embezzlement) after terminating her contract with the company in April.
Uzurocks initially promised to pay the settlement to Song Ji Hyo but failed to do so, causing repeated delays. Despite assuring payment at the end of April and then on May 10, Uzurocks couldn't meet the deadlines due to further delays in the payment schedule. They attributed these delays to the situation's complexities and aimed to resolve everything by June 30.
However, the promised resolution date came and went, and the outstanding payments were still not made. Song Ji Hyo's legal representative informed the media that they had not received the payment as of today.
To exacerbate matters, Uzurocks' current employees are also experiencing overdue payments.
OSEN's coverage on July 20 brought this issue to light, and now the employees are contemplating reporting CEO A. He promised to pay their wages by July 24, and they are willing to wait until that date to see if he follows through. An official from Uzurocks explained, "All the employees are not being paid. If they don't receive their payment until July 24, the employees are ready to expose CEO A."
An official from Uzurocks expressed their frustration, stating that all employees are not receiving their pay on time. CEO A's claims of incoming investment from the United States have been met with skepticism, as the source of this investment remains unclear.
The official stated, "The employees are losing their patience with CEO A constantly lying. He said he will get investment money from the United States but we think it's all a lie. The source (of the investments) is unclear. He is only telling us to wait one more day, two more days when the source of the investment is unclear. I think it's his scheme, telling us the investments are almost complete. We think he used the media to delay paying us. He said he will pay us on July 20."
The official suspects that the CEO is merely using the media to buy time and extend the payment period. If wages are delayed and reported, the CEO could face up to 3 years in prison or a fine of up to 30 million KRW (23,485 USD). However, CEO A has seemingly transferred responsibility to others to evade accountability.
The official informed that July 24 would be the ultimatum, and if the payment is not made by then, they will side with Song Ji Hyo and disclose internal data to expose the situation further. The responsibility for the current predicament lies squarely on CEO A, despite his attempts to shift blame to others listed as representatives of the company.
Shut that company down.
