The unveiling of distinct musical styles and nuanced personal flair during these solo releases is always a riveting experience.
Here are some of the solo ventures that have created quite a stir within the industry!
In 2015, Girls’ Generation‘s leader Taeyeon made her solo debut with “I,” featuring Verbal Jint, an emotional song that remains legendary to this day. Even her latest album, "INVU," proves that she is still one of the best vocalists in the industry.
As good as he is at being his group's maknae, he also shines just as bright on his own. In a Reddit discussion, SHINee Taemin‘s solo singles “Sayonara Hitori” and “Move” were frequently listed as two of the most legendary solo releases. But then again, everything Taemin releases tend to be popular and well-loved easily!
Birds of a feather flock together they say, and Kai being Taemin's best friend, proves this saying. From "Mmmh," to "Peaches," and now "Rover," all of his solo releases are jaw-dropping!
TWICE‘s Nayeon became the first member of the group to make their solo debut in 2022. Her being the first made the anticipation bigger, and of course, we expected no less from her as she successfully made everyone obsessed with her catchy song “POP!”
Let's admit it, all of the BTS solo releases were highly anticipated, and it was hard picking just one! This does not mean one is better than the other, but Jimin’s solo debut album and the title track "Like Crazy" was completely jaw-dropping. The lyrics and haunting melody will have you entranced.
BLACKPINK Jisoo
Jisoo was the last of her group to make her solo debut, and it was obviously one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year! It was a long-awaited release and certainly worth the wait! From the pop, dance, and trap title track, "FLOWER," to the fun dance that instantly became an internet sensation, it was a great solo debut!
"Golden Hour" isn't Mark's first time doing something on his own, but it was one of this year's most talked-about releases. Mark has never failed to showcase his exceptionally great talents. With this one, he wowed us with a proud anthem and a hilarious inside joke about his viral online moment, where he failed a cooking attempt and was shown to famous chef Gordon Ramsey.
Jinyoung announcing his solo album already created buzz and anticipation, and when the album finally dropped, our jaws dropped along with it because of his incredible songwriting and silky smooth vocals. The entire album expressed his feelings so effortlessly.
