Parenting might be one of the hardest things in life as childrearing is not an easy task, especially properly educating children on what is right and wrong.
Recently, Korean netizens are revisiting an episode of the popular South Korean variety program 'The Return of Superman,' where one celebrity stood out as a shining example of exceptional childrearing.
In an episode that aired six years ago, Choo Sung Hoon was seen rebuking his daughter Choo Sarang after she spilled soy sauce at a restaurant while playing around.
In the episode, Sarang was seen walking around the restaurant and playing with a soy sauce bottle before spilling some on her clothes and floor. At that moment, Choo Sung Hoon reprimanded her by calmly but firmly telling Sarang to apologize to the restaurant owner. He also taught her that it is improper table manners to walk around while everyone is eating and not eating with everyone.
In particular, Choo Sang Hoon was seen being firm and not holding Sarang as she began crying. He required her to think about what she did wrong and went to tell her to apologize before he would hug her.
In the interview, Choo Sang Hoon shared, "I believe she's at the age not (to be reprimanded). That's how I see it. I have to teach her what is right and what is wrong. There are kids who just say sorry because they're scared but I always tell her to think even when she's being yelled at."
After Sarang apologized, realizing what she had done wrong, Choo Sang Hoon warmly embraced his daughter. He once again reiterated what was wrong and what the proper table manner would be.
Korean netizens were impressed with Choo Sang Hoon's exceptional childrearing methods and commented, "He's an awesome dad," "yes, you need to teach kids what is wrong and what is right," "I want to be a good parent like him," "What he did is right. The first round of education a kid receives is from the home," "I really think Choo Sang Hoon is a good dad," "Sarang is so cute even though she's being yelled at," "That is a good education," "It's so good he says 'Think before you say anything,' good good," "I think it goes a long way when you educate kids on the proper etiquettes," "Raising a kid is really hard," and "I'm going to raise my kid that way too."
Good father 👍 👍
