On July 11 KST, a representative of JTBC's 'K-909' spoke up to clarify fan accounts of a small fire which broke out on set during NMIXX's stage recording for the program.
A day earlier on July 10, one fan who attended the recording for 'K-909' as a member of the audience wrote on an online community, "The 'K-909' recording was chaos. The set was beautiful, but something must have gone wrong because there was a small fire, but no one made an attempt to evacuate the audience so one person passed out. They did apologize for the fire but since they wouldn't let anyone out, I came out of it completely exhausted. The song was good, but a drone also got caught in Kyujin's hair. I'm never going again."
Regarding the issue, a representative of JTBC told Xsports News, "It's true that due to a problem during the recording, some of the pink muhly plants which were placed on stage as props caught on fire. As soon as the fire was spotted, the NMIXX members were asked to evacuate, and the fire was put out using an extinguisher."
As for the audience member who passed out, the rep commented, "One individual in the audience was pulled out from the crowd at their request. The staff advised that they return home, but the individual wished to remain until the end of the recording, and so they were led to a chair where they watched the rest of the recording, accompanied by a staff member. We checked with the audience multiple times to see if anyone else wished to be pulled out, but no one else spoke up, and so the recording proceeded."
Finally, on a drone becoming tangled with Kyujin's hair, the rep stated, "It only grazed her hair, and the staff made sure to check with the artist and the management. Both sides said that Kyujin was fine."
Geez! I read somewhere that someone smelt a smokey smell before the fire, but no one did anything about it. So was something burning/starting to burn and no one did anything about it before it could get to the point it did? I'm glad no one got hurt, but that must have been scary.
