Jungkook, the golden maknae of the global sensation BTS, has been setting records on his own and captivating fans with his latest new music, "Seven," featuring LATTO.
The global idol has proven his musical prowess and proved his skills once again. "Seven" debuted at the top of the coveted Billboards HOT 100 and landed #1 on the global Spotify chart.
Recently, Jungkook released the "Seven" explicit version, which caused fans to raise questions.
During a live stream, one fan asked Jungkook, "What is the reason you made 'Dirty Version' (of 'Seven')?" to which he responded with, "Why is that dirty version? Explain to me first why you think it's dirty." Jungkook continued to explain, "It's just an explicit version. I was deciding on which version, between the two, to release. But I decided to release both. People will interpret the clean version differently, and people will interpret the explicit version differently. I thought it would be fun to release both."
He further explained that he did contemplate a lot about releasing the two versions but wanted to show a different side to himself. He explained, "But this is what I think. If I don't show a new side to myself on my own accord, I can't be acknowledged. For example, I am the maknae of the group and have the image of the youngest member...People like that image of me so I respect it and follow it. But then what can I change for myself, in my life? I need to change too."
Jungkook elaborated that he wanted to break away from the set image he had over the years and wanted to attempt something new.
Just because someone is the ‘baby’ of the group it doesn’t mean they’re young and naive. Some of his fans need to grow up themselves and recognize that he’s an adult and wants to explore more mature content befitting of his age and possible experiences.
