The drama has brought Uhm Jung Hwa to the "third heyday" in her career and has left a sense of sadness for both the actress and viewers with the finale. In the drama, Uhm Jung Hwa played the main character, Cha Jung Sook, and couldn't hold back her tears during the final filming.
The final behind-the-scenes video of 'Doctor Cha' was released on JTBC Drama's YouTube channel on June 8, chronicling the emotional last day on set for the cast.
The video features the cast's last scene together, a touching farewell as Cha Jung Sook sees off characters Seo In Ho (portrayed by Kim Byung Chul), Seo Jung Min (brought to life by Song Ji Ho), and Jeon So Ra (enacted by Jo Aram).
After the filming ended, Uhm Jung Hwa shed tears, saddened by saying farewell to the drama. Other cast members gathered to take a photo, but Uhm Jung Hwa couldn't stop her tears from falling.
At that moment, actor Kim Byung Chul comforted Uhm Jung Hwa with a hug.
Meanwhile, 'Doctor Cha' aired the last episode on June 4, recording a viewer rating of 19.4%, the fourth highest rating ever for a JTBC drama. The drama saw a steady rise in popularity throughout its course. Starting modestly with a 4% viewer rating, it gradually won the affection and interest of a growing audience.
Uhm Jung Hwa did a great job as the lead but the cast as a whole was really good! Props to the casting director too!
