Lim Young Woong is continuing to prove his popularity as Korea's top trot singer!
On June 25 KST, the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation released brand value rankings of trot singers for the month of June, showing that Lim Young Woong has remained #1 on the chart for the 30th consecutive month.
Lim Young Woong currently has a brand reputation index of 10,018,257, compromising of a participation index of 2,676,114, media index of 1,854,568, communication index of 2,724,627, and community index of 2,762,948.
According to the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation director Goo Chang Hwan, terms most linked with the singer this month were "surpassed," "congratulate," and "donate." Keywords like "Grain of Sand," "Billboard," and "The Age of Hero," a play-on-words that combines Lim Young Woong's name with the name of a popular drama, also appeared.
Meanwhile, Lim Young Woong first made his debut as a trot singer in 2016 before blowing up in popularity as the winner of TV Chosun's survival competition 'Mr. Trot.' He is since become one of the most commercially successful artists in the country.
Note that it says he ranks first among "trot singers" which goes without saying. What's impressive is that he ranks second for the catch-all category of "korean singers". He's only slightly behind BTS and has an index score more than double Newjeans and Blackpink, who rank 3rd and 4th. Korean moms be representing.
