According to an exclusive media outlet report on June 15 KST, singer/actor Lim Siwan has been cast as a main character of 'Squid Game' season 2.

Previously, director and writer Hwang Dong Hyuk confirmed that Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun would be returning to lead the story of 'Squid Game' season 2. Aside from this information, however, all other details surrounding season 2 of the massively successful Netflix series has been kept under wraps. It's believed that the production budget for season 2 is close to 100 billion KRW (~ $78 million USD). and that filming is scheduled to begin this summer. 

Netflix Korea has declined to comment on the rumors regarding Lim Siwan's casting in 'Squid Game' season 2. 

In other news, Lim Siwan most recently starred in the Netflix thriller film 'Unlocked', and is also awaiting the premiere of '1947 Boston', coming in theaters across Korea in September.
