INFINITE's leader, Sunggyu, showcased his unwavering determination towards team activities during a press conference held at a cafe in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in celebration of the release of his fifth mini album, '2023 S/S Collection'.
The '2023 SS Collection' marks Sunggyu's latest album, coming approximately seven months after the special single 'Dear my fan,' which commemorated his solo debut's 10th anniversary, released last November.
During the event, Sunggyu expressed his thoughts on his comeback, stating, "Recently, I concluded a musical performance and embarked on concert tours in Hong Kong and Taiwan last week. Additionally, I've been busy with broadcasting commitments and preparing for this album," conveying his happiness at releasing new music after a considerable hiatus.
Regarding establishing his agency, Infinite Company, Sunggyu explained, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to engage in activities for an extended period. When our members completed their military service last year, I felt there was no reason that we couldn't be together. After numerous discussions, I decided to establish a company solely dedicated to supporting INFINITE's activities as the leader. We are diligently working while engaging in constant communication with one another."
Despite assuming the CEO role at Infinite Company, Sunggyu humbly admitted, "It feels awkward to label myself as the CEO. I find the term 'leader' to be less burdensome, more comfortable, and familiar."
The '2023 SS Collection' album includes the tracks "Intro: Time Lapse," the title song "Small Talk," "It Will be," "Jump," "Go Again," and "Sometimes."
"Small Talk" stands out with its infectious rhythm, melodic tune, and cheerful band sound, capturing listeners' attention. The song conveys Sunggyu's musical message of breaking the ice and approaching the world, with lyrics that possess a unique sensibility, allowing for varied interpretations depending on the listener's circumstances.
