It looks like ATEEZ and their fans have attracted quite the attention on the streets of Yeouido on the morning of June 16 KST!
On this day, fans lined up outside the KBS building in Yeouido, Seoul, in order to see ATEEZ recording their comeback stage for KBS2's 'Music Bank'. And to show appreciation for fans coming to see them, ATEEZ prepared special gifts for ATINY, which the staff handed out.
The gifts came in boxes boasting a rather unique(?) design, stacked in the back of an old-fashioned truck with a bright green sign, reading, "Cheongyang chili peppers".
So what happened when passersby on the street saw a long line of fans, being handed out boxes reading "Cheongyang chili peppers" on them?
According to one netizen, "ATEEZ oppas gave us gifts today. But then a taxi driver pulled over and asked me where I got the box of chili peppers, and where can they get some too.. Some other people on the streets asked me the same thing.. Like literally everyone on the street asked me."
Another netizen wrote, "OMFG is this for real. I got in a taxi to get to the closest station, and the driver said to me, 'What's a young girl like you doing buying such a big box of chili peppers?' The driver said they saw other young people carrying the same boxes too, and asked me where we got them...."
Many other fans confirmed having had similar experiences on their way home, such as,
"One ahjumma asked me, 'If I get in line here, can I get some chili peppers too?!' kekekekeke."
"A bunch of elders on the streets asked me what I was carrying, and I said that it was idol goods but they thought that there was a big chili pepper harvest~"
"One ahjumma said to a bunch of ATINY carrying the gift boxes, 'If you eat more than 3 cheongyang chili peppers at once you might die kekekekeke."
"ATINY = young girls carrying boxes of cheongyang chili peppers."
"The elderly passersby were seriously so curious kekekeke."
"Anyone seeing a bunch of people carrying those boxes would think that there was a big sale on chili peppers somewhere kekekekeke."
"I saw some girls with those chili pepper boxes on my way to work! I was like, what is going on kekekeke."
But no worries, those boxes aren't actually full of very spicy cheongyang chili peppers!
Inside, ATINY will find adorable mini suitcases with ATEEZ's logo.
Meanwhile, ATEEZ also previously garnered attention for their eye-catching subway advertisement, plastering giant images of cheongyang chili peppers all over the inside of a subway car.
Which means that on Friday morning, young ladies carrying cheongyang chili pepper boxes got on the cheongyang chili pepper car to reach their destination!
Have you checked out ATEEZ's comeback MV for "BOUNCY (K-Hot Chilli Peppers)"?
I guess this is what you call a successful publicity stint!
The elderly are so cute, too! 😆
