A YouTuber, who fled from Korea to evade an investigation into actor Yoo Ah In, has reportedly fled to France.
News1 reported on June 9 that the police suspect YouTuber Yang of receiving financial assistance from Yoo Ah In before departing from Korea last month.
On June 8, Yang uploaded a video on YouTube, adding to the unfolding situation. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit had initially booked Yang on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
However, when an arrest warrant was issued, Yang refused to cooperate with the investigation and left the country. Soon after, the police invalidated Yang's passport and requested Interpol's assistance in arranging an arrest.
During their investigation, the police discovered allegations that Yoo Ah In had provided money to Yang through an intermediary to aid in the YouTuber's escape. It was further revealed that Yang had departed for France following the receipt of the money transfer.
In light of the circumstances, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In, citing concerns of potential evidence tampering. Nevertheless, further verification is required to ascertain whether the funds received by Yang can be traced back to Yoo Ah In.
Last month, on May 24, Yoo Ah In faced questioning before the chief judge responsible for arrest warrants at the Seoul Central District Court regarding habitual drug charges. A total of 21 individuals, including 10 doctors and 12 medical officials, were booked without detention on charges of medical drug misuse and abuse.
So now he's aiding and abetting his pals to flee the country? Wow what happened to all that talk about him being an innocent little victim of drugs who needed cuddles and cookies?
