tvN's new music variety program 'Dancing Queens on the Road'' brought about an emotional moment as Lee Hyori couldn't hold back her tears upon seeing BoA.
The much-anticipated TV program, which aired for the first time on May 25, featured legendary female singers in Korean music Kim Wan Sun, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Hyori, BoA, and Hwa Sa, as they prepared for their first performance.
During the show, the four singers took part in a photoshoot, each portraying the concepts that reflected their past hit songs. BoA recreated her look when she promoted with the track "NO.1" when she was just 16-years-old and gracefully donned a nostalgic outfit.
Lee Hyori expressed her admiration, stating, "Although (the style) is from a long time ago, it seems like it's recent. It's a very sophisticated style."
As the filming commenced, Lee Hyori and Uhm Jung Hwa were elated to see BoA. Uhm Jung Hwa recalled, "During BoA's promotional period, I was on hiatus. I saw her on TV and thought she was incredibly beautiful."
Overwhelmed with nostalgic emotions, Lee Hyori suddenly burst into tears. She reminisced, "I used to see BoA every day when we worked together. She was like a baby back then. She hasn't changed a bit."
Curious about their shared memories, BoA asked Lee Hyori if she remembered their old days. In response, she shared, "Why does the song sound so melancholic?" BoA playfully chuckled and jokingly remarked, "You're getting old."
Meanwhile, 'Dancing Queens On The Road' is a program in which the top female solo artists travel around South Korea to meet with fans, perform, and have fun together. The new tvN program aired its first episode on May 25 and will air every Thursday evening.
BoA paved the way for Kpop idols to venture in the Japanese market which was hard to get into that time, while Hyori paved the way for female idols in girl groups to venture outside theie groups to be sexy soloists. Such queens. Here is an old pic of future legends.
