The songwriter of IU's "Good Day" and "The Red Shoes" has spoken up about the plagiarism allegations against him.
Previously, an anonymous netizen filed charges against IU for violation of the copyright law for 6 of her songs, and her label EDAM Entertainment responded stating she wasn't aware of the allegations until she read them in headlines. The label further stated they would be taking strong legal action against the rumors.
Lee Min Soo, the writer of 2 of IU's tracks "Good Day" and "The Red Shoes", addressed the plagiarism allegations on May 11 KST. He wrote:
"Yesterday afternoon, I read an article that said 'Good Day' and 'The Red Shoes,' IU's two songs that I wrote, were accused of plagiarism.
I refuted the issue concerning 'The Red Shoes' in a press release when it was released in 2013 and have refrained from commenting further as it would be pointless. However, due to recent unreasonable criticism towards the artist, I am carefully leaving this message.
I didn't reference or think of anyone else's song when working on 'Good Day' and 'The Red Shoes'.
As the songwriter of 'Good Day' and 'The Red Shoes', I hope this does not hurt anyone's heart, especially IU's heart and the hearts of those who love IU."
Stay tuned for updates.
I don't believe that multiple songwriters plagiarised anything. I think this is part of an orchestrated hate campaign that has been going on for a while now.
.
The police need to be involved and whoever it is needs to be stopped before they go any further.
