According to media outlet reports on May 25 KST, police have forwarded a former employee of WH Creative, 'A', to prosecution for defamation of character.
Previously in July of 2022, H.O.T member/solo artist Jang Woo Hyuk filed a lawsuit against 'A' for the spread of false information, defamation of character, and interference of business. 'A' had initially claimed on an online community that while working at WH Creative, they were subject to two accounts of physical violence and multiple accounts of verbal violence.
Jang Woo Hyuk, who was already facing accusations of physical violence against a former trainee at his agency, went on to sue 'A' and claimed that 'A' was lying.
However, based on the evidence presented by 'A' in the form of past Kakao Talk messages, police concluded that 'A' was not guilty of "spreading false information", as they were "not lying". But due to the nature of the lawsuit, there was reason to believe that 'A' used "facts in a hostile manner to defame Jang Woo Hyuk's character", and thus, 'A's case will be forwarded to prosecution.
'A' will be able to avoid punishment for defamation of character if they can prove that the facts they publicized were for the "benefit of the public."
i can't believe Jang Woo Hyuk did that. Life is hard enough for trainees. I hope he gets what's coming to him.
