The news of a suspected nighttime date between the two "lovers in Paris", BTS's V and BLACKPINK's Jennie is currently the biggest buzz in K-Pop.
In light of the developments, some netizens are once again fueling the claims that V and Jennie, suspected of being in a relationship, have frequently worn their "couple necklaces" during their public schedules. In fact, BTS's V was spotted wearing this supposed "couple necklace" at Incheon airport on his way to Paris on May 15.
Suspicions of the "couple necklace" were first raised with the earliest dating rumors between the two top stars in May of last year. BLACKPINK's Jennie wore the suspected necklace during 'Carpool Karaoke' with James Corden earlier this year.
Now, netizens are showing divided opinions over the two K-Pop idols "openly displaying" their suspected "couple item" while carrying out their official schedules.
Some said,
"They have no intention of showing the fans respect."
"If you're going to be open about it, then have the agencies confirm it. Then it won't feel so much like everyone is being lied to."
"Those two really want the world to know, don't they?"
"Everything that V does seems fake to me."
"So are these two trying to put up a fight against their agencies or something? They want to be public about it but the agencies aren't allowing them?"
"We get it V. You want the whole world to know you're dating Jennie."
"They wanna act like Hollywood stars but this isn't Hollywood."
"This is so disrespectful to the fans who spent hours waiting for you at the airport..."
Meanwhile, others commented,
"I just don't get it. If they date and they're too open about it, it's rude? But if they date and act like they're not, it's being considerate of fans?"
"I thought BTS fans were so proud of the fact that they didn't think of the members as their boyfriends? So why all this rage now?"
"They're the top of the top... I don't think this dating thing is going to affect them at all."
"He's just an ordinary man. If you're a fan, just say congratulations and move on. You're never gonna marry him anyway."
In other news, BLACKPINK's Jennie is expected to make an appearance at the '2023 Cannes Film Festival' currently under way from May 16 through May 27.
Fans are not entitled to the entire life of an idol. It's YOUR CHOICE to support them with your time and money. Don't like them dating? Don't support them. Simple as that. Fans who actually consider idols as humans and not products are the only fans worth respect 🤷♀️ cry about it.
It's clear that many in this fandom aren’t mentally sound. Idol culture feeds into parasocial relationships and causes already not mentally well people to become obsessive and reliant of an idol. So seeing idols date is like a betrayal. It's sad and pathetic.
