The superstar group BLACKPINK has constantly been breaking one record after another on various music platforms proving their enormous popularity and impact globally.
Now they have just achieved a new all-time high on Spotify by surpassing 10 billion streams on the platform, becoming the first girl group in history to achieve such a milestone.
With their level of Spotify streams, BLACKPINK not only remains strong on the platform but stands out from Kpop by competing against pop artists. Even more incredible is that the group has achieved all of this despite having a two-year hiatus from their career and a relatively limited discography compared to other Asian acts that debuted at the same time or even constantly release music.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK recently broke a 13-year record by becoming "The Most Viewed Artist Channel in YouTube History," as well as currently being "The Most Followed Artist Channel on YouTube," thereby demonstrating their domain also on this platform. Their successful concerts are not far behind as their "BORN PINK WORLD TOUR" has become the highest-grossing girl group tour in history with over $78.5 million earned from their first 26 shows and having still many to come.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK was chosen to represent South Korea as the first group in history to headline the major music festival Coachella, where their spectacular performances received multiple accolades from local and international media by attracting more than 250 million viewers in live stream and a crowd of over 125 thousand people in attendance, not only that as BLACKPINK was reported to have dominated social media during Coachella grabbing approximately 78.1% of the festival related posts out of a total of 9,674,274 posts, being many of them pride posts by Korean netizens.
Congrats queens!
