Ravi writes apology letter for military evasion controversy

AKP STAFF

Ravi has written an apology letter for his military evasion controversy.

On April 11, Jellyfish Entertainment revealed Ravi would be officially leaving VIXX in light of his military evasion controversy. The rapper himself admitted to all of his charges, citing the reason was because he was the "only profit earning artist of his agency."

Ravi wrote:

"Hello, this is Ravi.

Firstly, I apologize to everyone who was harmed and hurt by what I did wrong.

In the past, I was assigned to public service because of an illness I had, and I was postponing my service for my activities until it was difficult to postpone my service any further.

I was the only artist in the label earning profit, and contracts signed before COVID-19 were being postponed without certainty. With the burden of contract cancellation charges, I was desperate to delay my military enlistment.

With desperation, I made a foolish decision, and when my worries about the company and the contract issues were resolved, I voluntarily registered for public service and was serving my duty since October of last year.

I would like to sincerely apologize to epilepsy patients and their families who must have been hurt by this wrong decision I made along with everyone required to serve who is diligently carrying out their duty even at this moment.

Furthermore, I sincerely apologize to all the people who were hurt by me and to the fans who passionately supported my life beyond myself as an artist for making you all feel the time we spent together is being denied and broken.

I wanted to be someone you could be proud of, and I have no excuse for showing such a shameful side of myself.

Compared to everyone’s precious feelings that were developed sincerely over a long period of time, I think I was very lacking.

Lastly, I decided to leave VIXX, so that no further damage would be caused to the team members who were harmed because of me. I am sincerely grateful to all the members who've been with me for 11 years, and I feel apologetic beyond words. I sincerely hope there will be no more harm caused to the members’ precious efforts because of me.

I think I am a person who is lacking a lot and has a lot to learn. I think it's my responsibility to take all the criticism over this incident. The more you scold me, the more I will reflect and learn from it.

I know very well that my simple words of apology do not make my mistakes go away. I will continue to learn and work hard, so that I can live as a better person by reflecting and not forgetting. I sincerely apologize."

Sounds like he was pressured into it but it was still his decision to make. He's a grown man with a mind of his own. He knew his military service was coming so that should have factored into signing any contracts, plus I doubt they could have sued him for breach of contract when he had to perform his mandatory military service. That's out of his control. He messed up. Big time. End of story. Ugh. So, so disappointed in him. He had a bright future and he just threw it all away. Whoever was advising him were selfish idiots and he was an idiot for listening to them. grrr. so mad.
