Customers expressed their amazement at seeing global celebrities like BTS's V (Kim Taehyung) and 'Parasite' actor Choi Woo Shik working at the restaurant.
On March 31st, the fifth day of "Jinny's Kitchen" aired and the cast found themselves overwhelmed with customers, which was a significant contrast from the previous day when sales had been low. Nonetheless, CEO Lee Seo Jin was delighted by the surge in business.
A group of male customers arrived, and while waiting for their food, a couple of the guys kept looking at Wooshik. As their curiosity heightened, one of them said, "I really think he is the man from 'Parasite'." Another responded, "Why don't we ask him?"
Shortly after, Wooshik arrived with the corn dogs they ordered, and the guests inquired, "Can I ask you something? Were you in a movie?"
When Wooshik confirmed, "Yes," they repeatedly prodded, "Which one?" To which Wooshik responded, "Parasite," before promptly running away, possibly out of embarrassment.
Despite being released in 2019, the Academy-Award winning movie 'Parasite' continues to be relevant for its powerful message that reverberates in today's society, and Wooshik has gained international recognition for his exceptional performance in it.
Later, a group of Dutch tourists whom Wooshik had invited to the restaurant the previous day by telling them he was an actor, arrived, and he struck up a conversation with them once again.
When Taehyung finally took a break from cooking in the kitchen, Wooshik quickly boasted to the customers that he was a member of BTS.
When the men praised the chicken as the best dish among their order, unaware that Taehyung had cooked it, he was extremely pleased with the compliment, especially since he used to be the worst cook in BTS.
One of the men who recognized Taehyung went on to explain BTS to his friends, highlighting that Taehyung was a member of the world's biggest boy band.
"Ok, how should I put it... you see.. You see the guy right behind me?" he began, "He is a member of the biggest boyband in the world. They're just on another level. Like Justin Bieber."
The man compared BTS's popularity to the likes of Justin Bieber, Drake, and Post Malone. However, Taehyung, who is accustomed to fame, was more thrilled about people enjoying his chicken. He was caught doing a little happy dance in the kitchen.
'Jinny's Kitchen' airs every Friday at 8:50 PM KST via tvN and TVING for viewers in South Korea and via Amazon’s global OTT Prime Video for viewers overseas.
Both of them are bringing the comedy in the show.
