K-Pop Songs That Are So Good That They “Have a Fandom Of Their Own”

Posted by optimusnins17 pts Friday, April 14, 2023

Have you heard of the expression “This song has a fandom on its own” when people talk about a certain song? I feel like it's the perfect way to describe how good and iconic those songs are. These songs have transcended time, genre, and even language to capture the hearts and imaginations of fans worldwide.

They are simply unforgettable, and their legacy continues to live on.

So if you're in the mood for some truly iconic tunes that have earned their place in music history, look no further. Here are some of the most iconic songs with a fandom of their own - guaranteed to get stuck in your head and stay there for years to come.

BTBT - B.I

When this song first dropped, everyone just lost it. Something about this song is just way too good. From B.I.'s vocals, the addictive melody, and the elegant dance, this bop certainly deserves its own fandom.

Mirotic - TVXQ

Even if you don't know anything about TVXQ, (maybe because they were way before your time), you have most likely seen your favorite group cover it or dance to it. A fan said seeing the group perform Mirotic at SMTown last year was insane because there were only about 5 TVXQ lightsticks, but the fan chant was louder than any other song that night.

Wannabe - ITZY

ITZY has a lot of great hits, but this one is just something else. A fan even said that Ryujin's shoulder move has its own cult at this point. Just looking at her shoulder move made my shoulders dislocate.

Ring Ding Dong - SHINee

A fan said Ring Ding Dong "is not just a fandom, it's a religion," and they're not wrong about it. "Replay" may be a legendary song, but as soon as you hear the song's "BABYYYY," you'll just get grooving.

Gangnam Style - Psy

Ten years later, and it still remains legendary and is one of the most viewed videos. This catchy song has a massive following of people who have no other connection to K-Pop.

Shine - Pentagon

Even if you don't know Pentagon (why wouldn't you? They're amazing!), you would definitely know the dance to this fun song!

Jopping - SuperM

An epitome of a song with a fandom of its own has to be JOPPING. Three years later, we're all still JUMPING AND POPPING, WE JOPPING. Plus, Mark's line in the song is still fire.

Love Shot - EXO

Love Shot's fandom not only consists of EXO-Ls who are proud of this masterpiece but also non-EXO-Ls and 4th gen idols who will instantly start dancing when you hear the na-na-na-na~.

Hype Boy - NewJeans

"Hybe Boy" took the music world by storm, with fans and critics alike hailing it as a true cultural reset. This groundbreaking track represents a defining moment in K-pop music history - a cultural reset that will continue to inspire and influence the next generation.

Psycho - Red Velvet

These girls never fail to release such great bops, but this one will get you feeling like a psycho, indeed. This may stir a little discussion, but I don’t trust people who dislike this masterpiece.

I think for Red Velvet, its more Red Flavor then Psycho. And I think this list should add Mova by Taemin and Gashina by Sunmi as well.
