According to a foreign media correspondent on April 20 KST, HYBE will be launching its very own, private chat service between artists and fans called 'Weverse DM' next week.
It's reported that 'Weverse DM' will allow fans to "exchange direct messages with their beloved artists 'just like they do with friends'". Fans will also be able to receive photos, videos, and emojis from their favorite artists, and the service can be purchased through 'Jelly', an official digital currency of Weverse.
Many K-netizens believe the service will take on a similar format to 'Dear U Bubble', currently widely used by SM Entertainment artists, JYP Entertainment artists, Cube Entertainment artists, Starship Entertainment artists, etc.
these platforms honestly just breeds more and more delusional parasocial fans that think they're entitled to special treatment from their idols just because they constantly throw money at them
