Former B.A.P member Himchan has been sentenced to prison.
On April 30, the third division of the Supreme Court (Chief Justice Oh Seokjoon) has announced to the lower court that Himchan's sentence to 10 months of jail time has been confirmed in his appeal, following the indication of his charges of forced harassment.
This is the former idol's third trial for the sexual harassment case that happened back in 2018.
Earlier on July 24, 2018, Himchan was charged for molesting a women in her 20s who went to hang out at a guest house with him in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, to which he claimed was "consensual" and that the "good feelings were mutual."
On February 24, 2021 the Seoul Central District Court was given a sentence of 10 months in prison, as well as 50 hours of sexual violence education courses. To which an appeal was filed.
On April 2022, Himchan admitted to all charges of his sexual assault, and on February 9, 2023, following his appeal, the Seoul Central District Court finalized a sentence of 10 months in prison, as well as 50 hours of sexual violence education courses. Following the second appeal of this case, the third trial has ruled the same 10 months in prison and 50 hours of sexual violence education courses.
Meanwhile, Himchan is also on an ongoing trial after being charged with molesting two women at a bar in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, in April last year. It is also reported that he is suspected of a third case of forced harassment.
