CJ ENM has apologized for re-hiring 'Produce' series producer Ahn Joon Young.
The controversial producer is known for being involved in the manipulation of votes for Mnet's 'Produce' series, but recent reports revealed Ahn Joon Young was re-hired for a different project following his prison sentence. CJ ENM faced criticism for the controversial re-hire and released an official apology.
CJ ENM stated, "We'd like to sincerely apologize to all who were disappointed by Mnet's past round of recruitment. The decision to hire PD Ahn Joon Young was an inexcusable mistake. Our decision to give him a chance to make up for his past mistakes did not meet standards of justice or fairness by society." The company further stated, "For the past 4 years, we've established a voting management system separate from production to improve the fairness of our audition programs. We've also increased our transparency for the voting process by strengthening our monitoring of votes and the inclusion of viewer committees."
However, CJ ENM did not confirm whether Ahn Joon Young would remain with the company, stating, "We're currently discussing our course of action for Ahn Joon Young's future."
Stay tuned for updates.

Basically, "We're sorry you feel that way about our rehiring of a PD who took the fall for our vote rigging. But you should still trust us because we hired a third party company to do the vote counting from now on. But we will review if this will affect us in rehiring our scapegoat and we will discuss if we will just fire him again while giving him a nice severance pay with an attached NDA so he won't squeal about what we actually did and who were actually involved instead of giving justice and proper remuneration to all those trainees whose careers got screwed over.
