The mysterious buyer who recently purchased a Bel-Air mansion previously owned by comedian Trevor Noah has been revealed.
Bang Si Hyuk, the founder of HYBE, producer of the global K-pop act BTS, and one of South Korea's wealthiest entrepreneurs, has been confirmed as the purchaser of the sprawling 11,400-square feet estate, as reported by TheRealDeal. According to Forbes, Bang Si Hyuk's fortune is estimated at around $2.9 billion.
The mansion, located on Stradella Road, was acquired by Bang Si Hyuk for approximately 26.4 million USD, based on a survey of various listing sites. The initial asking price for the property was 29.8 million USD, and Trevor Noah himself purchased it in 2020 for 29 million USD.
Designed by renowned architect Mark Rios, who heads the eponymous Los Angeles-based architectural firm Rios, the mansion is a masterpiece of modern design. Mark Rios is well-known for his iconic work on notable projects such as Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles and the redesign of downtown's Music Center. The mansion's striking design was even featured in a 2017 issue of Architectural Digest, showcasing its unique and sophisticated aesthetic.
Noteworthy features of Trevor Noah's former residence include a gorgeous infinity pool, a luxurious Japanese-style spa, and a charming open-air pavilion perfect for hosting dinner parties. Additionally, the mansion boasts a separate wine room, complete with a discreet door that leads to a hidden elevator, adding a touch of mystery and intrigue to the property.
