Nam Tae Hyun apologized to fans for his DUI arrest.
This past week, Nam Tae Hyun was caught by police drunk driving in Gangnam, Seoul with a blood alcohol level of 0.114%, which is enough for a license cancellation. He wrote the letter below as follows:
"Hello, I'm Nam Tae Hyun. Before I start, I bow my head to apologize for causing concern about my mistake. There's no excuse for this mistake caused by my rash decision, and I'm very ashamed. I'm being reprimanded for my wrongdoing in this. I'll self-reflect, repent, and repent again. I'll deeply reflect on myself to prevent this from happening again. I'm sorry."
Nam Tae Hyun's label Noname Music also cleared up alleged misinformation from the DUI accident in which the singer reportedly damaged the side of a taxi passing by when opening his door, then drove for 20 meters. On March 10, the label stated, "Nam Tae Hyun had no intention to drive under the influence. Someone told him to move his car, and his made the mistake of doing so without realizing."
Noname Music detailed, "After meeting people in Gangnam around 3:30AM on the 8th KST. His acquaintances were waiting for the drivers they called, and Nam Tae Hyun moved his car 5 meters to re-park it because it was blocking his acquaintances' cars. He waited for the driver he called. During all this, Nam Tae Hyun was opening the door of his parked car, and the door collided with the taxi's side mirror when it was driving by. Immediately after the accident, Nam Tae Hyun checked to see if the taxi driver was okay and promised to compensate the damage. However, unlike some media reports, Nam Tae Hyun didn't drive 10 meters after the collision with the taxi, but moved 5 meters foward to park again."
The label concluded, "Though he was drunk, there's no excuse for his quick and rash judgement."

Is there anything that can ever excuse drunk driving? A family friend was driving home when he was killed by a drunk driver. I don't have much sympathy for people who drink and choose to endanger others by driving.
