BLACKPINK member Jisoo gathered an impressive number of pre-orders for her upcoming album!
According to YG Entertainment, on March 28, Jisoo's first single album 'ME' surpassed 1.24 million pre-order sales in just three weeks after the pre-orders began on March 6. This has become the highest figure ever for a single album by a K-Pop female solo artist in the history of South Korea.
'ME' has already set a new record in the category, exceeding 510,000 copies two days after the start of the pre-sale period and 950,000 copies in two weeks. As the trend continues to rise, the final tally is expected to increase further.
Meanwhile, 'ME,' which features the tracks "Flowers" and "All Eyes On Me," is slated for release on March 31, KST.
Often preorder sales, when mentioned for sales records, are store shipments rather than albums preordered by fans. Stores estimate how many albums they will sell and place an order, and this is referred to as a preorder.
First day/first week sales are always the actual number of sold albums to fans, tracked on hanteo. This includes fan preorders. This number is usually lower than the store preorder number reported earlier, since stores order to have stock for more than just the first week.
