Although girl group Purple K!ss, the younger sister group to MAMAMOO has returned with their 5th mini album, "Cabin Fever," and title track "Sweet Juice," on the 15th of February 2023, much to the delight of their plory (Purple Kiss' fandom name). Many fans are raising concerns over the girl's health, as, the group is doing floor-heavy choreography without knee guards for the comeback on music show promotions.
Many fans and netizens were quick to point out that the bruises on the girl's knees are clearly visible, and in the promotional pictures for their INKIGAYO performance, two members can be seen with flesh-colored plasters on their knees. Not to mention redness associated with bruising on their other legs, which can be seen on all members.
The sight of the continued bruising is concerning fans, as the girls continue to do floor-heavy choreography that involves moves bringing more weight on the girl's knees. Since the girls are performing without any knee-guards to decrease the impact of the choreography of when their kens touch the cold stage ground. Fans fear that further bruising and likely injuries may soon follow the group during the promotional period.
As the continued strain on the knees without proper protection can damage the knees, especially impact the knee cartilage, fans are worried for the girls and are asking RBW to provide proper protection for the girls. While performing on the floor, heavy choreography and/or change the choreography a bit so that it would require less stress on their knees. Dancer injuries, especially to the knees and joints, get worse with age. So far, the group will be entering their second week of promotions, thus, fans are worried Purple Kiss will continue to perform with no knee guards.
What do you think about the situation?
So proud of them for executing this challenging, amazing-looking choreography so well!
But could RBW please not drop this particular ball?? Ugh, my list of complaints about this agency could fill a swimming pool, but this one is especially frustrating because it's so pointless and unnecessary to have the members endure this. Allowing this level of injury only a few days into extended promotions is just horrible.
